A cable machine, or cable crossover machine, is one of the most complete pieces of workout equipment available. With one or two weight stacks, pulley systems, cable attachments, and more, these machines are fantastic for full-body workouts and overall functional fitness.
Typically used in commercial gyms, cable crossover machines are long and usually come equipped with numerous weight stacks and angled cables. This includes a top bar that spans between the two weight stacks (used for pull-ups), as well as perhaps a lat pulldown area and other exercise stations.
This is a type of functional trainer, but it has a variety of styles, from a single weight stack and one adjustable cable to numerous weight stacks, each of them connected to multiple pulley systems and cable angles.

You’ll want to grab some cable attachments to make your cable machine even more versatile, such as straight bars, triangle chest rings, a sports stick, angled bars, and a triceps rope.
