Jacobs Ladder vs Jacobs Ladder 2 | Product Comparison

Jacobs Ladder vs Jacobs Ladder 2

What's the difference between Jacobs Ladder and Jacobs Ladder 2? Read this to find out!

In this article we'll take an in-depth look at Jacobs Ladder vs Jacobs Ladder 2, comparing all the similarities and differences of each model.

Jacobs Ladder was designed over 20 years ago specifically for high intensity, low impact exercise that is both extremely challenging but also easy on your joints!

The original Jacobs Ladder is a stalwart in the industry, but isn't perfect. The Jacobs Ladder 2 was created to address some specific design challenges and disadvantages discovered by original Jacobs Ladder customers.

So, what exactly are the differences between the Jacobs Ladder and the Jacobs Ladder 2?

Let's get started by addressing the similarities between the two:

Jacobs Ladder vs Jacobs Ladder 2 Similarities

Both Jacobs Ladder exercise machines have strong welded tubular steel frames with an ABS/Polyethylene case. Each has side handrails for user safety and feature the Jacobs Ladder logo.

They ship fully assembled on custom made pallets and have easy transport wheels to maneuver the Jacobs Ladder fitness machine into and around your space as needed.

Each model has the same screen readouts as well: Elapsed Time, Feet Climbed, Rate (Feet per minute), Calorie Burn and Heart Rate (when using a chest strap).

These machines are by no means small and both require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet to be used safely.

Both the Jacobs Ladder and Jacobs Ladder 2 are also proudly made in the USA!

Jacobs Ladder vs Jacobs Ladder 2 Differences

We'll start this section off by addressing the main pain point for buyers of the first Jacobs Ladder model: It's sheer size! This machine is big, weighing in at 325lbs with dimensions of 31.25" W x 76" L x 65.5" H"

Difference #1 - Overall Size

The first key difference between the Jacobs Ladder 2 and original Jacobs Ladder is the width of the machine. The Jacobs Ladder 2 is only 27.25 inches wide. The smaller frame also makes it 25lbs lighter.

The new design is made to fit through most standard residential doorways. It cuts down the footprint to save space and help small personal training gyms or boutique gyms optimize their floor plans as well!

Difference #2 - Power Requirements

The 2nd difference is that the Jacobs Ladder 2 requires 110V power. You must plug the unit in for it to work. This is a major difference from the Jacobs Ladder which uses self-generated power.

The original unit was not limited to where you could put it by the location of a power outlet. However, this detail did not seem to really matter for smaller gyms or residential buyers where access to an outlet is more easily available.

Difference #3 - The Ladder Rungs

The Jacobs Ladder 2 also features a design change in the rungs. It has 2" steel tube rungs with polyurethane sleeves, while the original had solid maple wooden rungs.

Difference #4 - The Warranty

The last difference between the two Jacobs Ladder cardio machines is the warranty. The original model boasts a 4-year warranty on all parts. The newer Jacobs Ladder 2 has the warranty cut down to 2-years on all parts.
